The Gentlemen

The Gentlemen formed in 1999 when Mike Gent of The Figgs joined forces with 3/4 of Boston's The Gravel Pit. They released their debut CD, Ladies and Gentlemen...The Gentlemen (Hearbox/ Q Division Records) in March of 2000. Their sophomore seffort, Blondes Prefer The Gentlemen was released in March of 2002. The record featured a varied cast of characters at the helm including Dave Minehan (x-Neighborhoods),Tom Polce (Bill Janovitz & Crown Victoria) and Scott Riebling (x- Letters to Cleo). After winning the WBCN Rock n’ Roll Rumble in 2002, they released Brass City Band, still making time for the band members’ touring schedules with The Figgs, Graham Parker and as Juliana Hatfield's rhythm section. Most recently, The Gentlemen opened for the Click Five, Juliana Hatfield, and Louis XIV, and played at Fenway Park as part of Boston Red Sox GM Theo Epstein and Peter Gammons's charity concert, and have backed up the legendary Graham Parker at the Orpheum in Boston.
