Panel Discussions

As part of our charitable mission, Waxfruit will present panel discussions and presentations to better educate both creative community and the public at large about the process, procedures, and social issues involved in creating and experiencing works of media art.

Panelists will be drawn from our pool of volunteers with experience in public policy, community activism, community arts, intellectual property law, new media and technology, publishing, as well as representative from the arts media community.

Proposed events include:

Song + Cinema + Society
Panel discussion on how the music community and the independent film community work together to better serve and enrich the urban culture around them.

Now Hear This!
Panel discussion on ways to provide more universal public access to contemporary works of media art. Topics may include new media as public empowerment, universal broadband access, digital art and intellectual property rights and the public benefits of community-wide arts exposure.

Plans are being made to make video of these discussions available online to maximize public accessibility.
